How do I post a found item?

Use Report Found Item, describe the item safely, avoid publishing sensitive identifiers, and follow any organization review flow.

What are hidden details?

Hidden details are private verification clues, such as specific marks or contents, used to help confirm ownership. They are not shown publicly.

How do I claim an item?

Open the item page, submit a claim, and answer verification questions honestly. The owner or organization may review before handover.

Why is my organization submission pending?

Some organizations review user submissions before publishing to keep public pages accurate and safe.

What does changes requested mean?

The organization needs more information or edits before your submission can be approved.

How do I edit or resubmit?

Open your activity or submission area, update the requested details, and resubmit where available.

What happens after an item is approved?

Approved items can appear publicly and may move into claim review, messaging, handover, or recovered status.

How do I contact support?

Use the contact page and include the item link, profile, or organization page if your message is about a specific case.

For organizations

How does FindBack work for organizations?

Organizations get a verified profile, dashboard, QR reporting page, submission approval, claim management, and safe handover tools.

How do QR codes work?

A QR code can point visitors to the organization lost-property flow for reporting lost or found items at that place.

How do staff approve submissions?

Staff review pending submissions in the organization dashboard, then approve, reject, or request changes.

Can we set our own collection policy?

Yes. Organizations may set their own collection, retention, identification, shipping, and handover rules.

Can we offer shipping?

Organizations may arrange shipping directly with users where they choose to offer it. Platform shipping may be added later.

How do we invite staff?

Organization managers or admins can invite staff from the organization dashboard where enabled.

What happens after the free trial?

After the pilot, organizations can choose a usage-based paid plan. Every plan keeps the same dashboard, claims, QR, and safe recovery tools.

Safety

How do I report inappropriate content?

Use report tools on items or profiles where available, or contact support with the relevant link and context.

What happens to unsafe posts?

Unsafe posts may be reviewed, hidden, removed, rejected, or escalated depending on the concern.

How are private details protected?

Private proof details are separate from public item descriptions and are used only for claim or ownership review.
